How Can I Join?
Fulshaw WI has now reached its membership limit for 2023. You can still come along as a guest though, just email us at [email protected] (places are limited due to venue capacity restrictions). It costs £5.00 per open meeting to come as a guest and the number of times you can come will be limited before we would expect a commitment to go on our waiting list when it reopens.
Attendance will be guaranteed as long as you have a confirmed place on the guest list first. Our guest list for each meeting will open the day after the month before's meeting.
Why do you Cap Membership?
This is due to capacity restrictions at our present venue. Our programme is varied and at times we may need to move our meeting in order to hold a hands-on event, celebration or party.
Why are Guest Spaces Capped?
Guest spaces, like member spaces, may be capped because of venue capacity and ensuring that our current members at least have a seat to sit on, we have enough glasses to serve drinks in and cups to drink tea out of!
I Want to Suggest a Speaker or Activity for a Future Meeting, How Can I Do This?
We plan our programme a year in advance so we already have everything organised for the coming year. We usually start planning at least six months in advance of the forthcoming year. We love to hear suggestions from members so if there is an activity you'd like to do or a speaker you'd like to hear we will try our best to arrange this for a future meeting. We try to introduce a fresh approach from year to year and feature a great mix of speakers. Some are more successful than others and that's why recommendations are really appreciated.
Do Committee Members get Paid?
The committee is made up of volunteers who give their time to the group freely and still have to pay the same membership fees as every other member. We have lots of fun and great friendships are built whilst doing the serious job of bringing great events to the membership.
How Can I Join the Committee?
We accept new members to the Committee each November. In the lead up, we will be asking for volunteers based on who will be standing down and the needs of the Branch. In the meantime, you may be interested in helping without too much time commitment. We are always on the lookout for members to help us set up and clear away at meetings, refreshments, cake making, helping or running events or even general suggestions. Please get in touch if you'd like to help or just get stuck in when you see or hear something that interests you. You will be very welcome!
